TOOL MAKING: The tool making sub-group consists of Guild members
interested in crafting hand tools for shop use. Meetings are randomly
arranged at a member’s shop where techniques in crafting a particular
tool are discussed. Often participants will construct the same tool but
with variations in design they create. Members craft the tool at their
home shop. No tools are made during the sub-group meeting location.
Result is having the satisfaction to use a tool self-crafted.
Wes Sunderland heads this group.
Future meetings will be noted below this description.

BIG GROUP:
Our Beginner and Intermediate Group (BIG) focuses on interesting
woodworking topics appealing to beginners, as well as those of us
with more experience. Topics have included shop setup, sharpening
planes and chisels, bandsaw setup and operation, router techniques,
various joinery techniques, and epoxy resins. Our topics continue to
expand based on members interest and their burgeoning skills.
Meetings are randomly arranged at a member’s shop appropriate for
the skill building working session. Barbara White and Susan Chandler
head this group.

Our next BIG meeting will be Saturday, May 31st at 9:00 a.m. at Barbara’s shop in Yarmouth.
We continue to explore different joinery techniques with the goal of each participant
building a piece using a joinery technique they have learned.
Dovetails will be the joinery technique at our next meeting – by hand, with a router
and on the table saw. Barbara White bjwhite7044@gmail.com or 207-460-6503
